How to Freshen Up Post-Workout

When you're looking at either skipping the workout or skipping the shower, then of course, the best option for your body is to eschew the post-workout shower. But it may not be so great for your coworkers or other people who spend time in close quarters with you post-workout. So what's a fitness-minded person to do when she needs to primp post-workout? It's all in the prep. Put your hair up in a ponytail or bun in order to keep it from absorbing the sweat on your neck. Wear moisture-wicking materials as you work out in order to keep the sweat off of your body, and be sure to wear a sports bra. Wearing the same undergarments throughout the day can get stinky, not to mention the risk of yeast infections when you wear damp, sweaty underwear all day. Leave your face bare during your workout - makeup can clog pores when combined with sweat and bacteria, and be sure never to touch your face during your workout. Simply blot your face with a towel as you break a sweat. Change out of everything post-workout - bring extra socks, undergarments and of course clothing in your gym bag.

To freshen up your skin, you should wash your face thoroughly. If you don't even have time for that, then bring wipes that remove makeup and dirt gently. The same thing goes for your body - a few baby wipes can go a long way! If you'd like a more grown-up option, there are many wipes on the market that you can use to scent your skin. Your hair might be sweaty at the roots, so if your gym has a hair dryer or hand dryer, then you can use it to dry those damp roots. After that, freshen up hair with a leave-in spray shampoo or cleansing spray. Minimal makeup will help that post-workout flush shine through and keep pores clear. Plus, when you're pressed for time, who needs it??
