There's no denying that laundry is the ultimate chore. Unfortunately, it's often a task that falls mainly on the woman of the house. But it doesn't have to be a one-woman job. Get the kids in on the act, and it will make tackling those mounds of dirty clothes a little more painless. While it's up to the parent to decide the appropriate age to get children involved, it's never too early to get them started. For starters, place a hamper in your child's room. Encourage your child to always put the dirty clothes in the hamper instead of on the floor or anywhere else around the room. When it's time to do the laundry, have your child bring his basket into the laundry room. For older children, have them sort the clothes into lights, darks and whites. You can even allow your children to put the clothes in the washer and help add the detergent and fabric softener. Of course, you gotta know when to fold 'em.
