Chocolate Raisins

Chocolate raisins are a long-held treat enjoyed by many. But have you ever thought of bypassing the candy aisle and making your own? Now you can with this easy recipe. You will never be without a bag again.

Chocolate Raisins


For 6 people

  • 1 cup(s) raisins
  • 1 cup(s) dates, pitted
  • 1 teaspoon(s) grated orange zest
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) vanilla
  • 1/2 pound(s) dipping chocolate


Put raisins and dates through a food chopper or process briefly in a food processor. Add grated orange zest, cinnamon and vanilla. (The zest is the orange part of the peel.) Mix well and form into balls. Melt chocolate in a double boiler. Dip the balls into it, one at a time, using a wire chocolate dipping tool. Place on waxed paper to cool.
