There's probably nothing more relaxing than soaking in a hot, fragrant bath. Make the most of this "me" time by using the right products for your skin and for maximum attitude adjustment! Baths are especially therapeutic for skin conditions such as itching, sunburns, psoriasis, poison ivy and many more. Choosing your favorite bubble bath, bath bomb or bath salts is just fine if you don't care to make it yourself. If you want to relax, then look for scents that include lavender, chamomile and/or vanilla. If you're looking to re-energize your senses, then try mixtures that include citrus scents, such as grapefruit and tangerine, or go with something herbal, like bergamot, sage and ginger. If you like girly scents, then try florals, fruits and "foodie" scents, like baked goods or berries. Scents are highly personal, however, so choose your own personal scent based on your preferences. Some skin-soothing ingredients to look for depend on the type of skin you have.
Oatmeal is a great product for itchy skin, and tea can pull the sting out of a sunburn. Lactic acid, aka milk, is a great exfoliator, and buttermilk also soothes itches. Citrus freshens up skin, whether it's oily or simply post-workout sweaty. Epsom salts are inexpensive and have been used in baths for eons - and for good reason. Adding two cups of Epsom salts to your bath can help increase circulation, ease headaches and soothe sore muscles. It's a perfect post-workout addition to your bath. Add a few drops of your favorite essential oil, and you've got the ideal bath!
