Broccoli and Garlic

By now, we all know the many health benefits of broccoli. But do you know how creative you can get with this superfood? Try this recipe on for size. You won't be sorry.

Broccoli and Garlic


For 4 people

  • 1 bunch of broccoli
  • 6 cloves of garlic
  • 2 tablespoon(s) olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) cayenne or chili powder
  • 2 tablespoon(s) water


Wash and cut broccoli. Steam in a microwave for about 3-5 minutes, or cook in boiling water for about 10 minutes until barely tender and still brightly colored. Finely chop the garlic. Place olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add salt, then garlic to hot oil. Sauté until garlic starts to soften. Add the water, then pepper. Lower heat and simmer for 2 minutes. Place cooked broccoli in a bowl and pour the garlic mixture over it. Mix gently.
