Brown RIce

Simply put, rice is one of the most difficult things for people to make simply because of not knowing the proper measurements. Use this basic recipe for perfect rice every time. Once you master the basic technique, experiment with fresh herbs and other flavorings.

For 1 people

  • 1/8 cup(s) long-grain brown rice (about 2 Tbs)
  • 1/3 cup(s) water
  • 1 dash salt (to taste)
  • 1 dash black pepper (to taste)


Rinse the rice in a bowl of water. Drain. Bring the water to a boil in a saucepan. Add the rice and lower the heat. Cover tightly and simmer until the rice is tender, about 35-45 minutes. Adjust the salt and pepper to taste.
