French Dip Sandwich
This sandwich is unbelievably fantastic. If you're already a fan of The French Dip sandwich then you'll love this. If you're not yet a fan then you're about to become one.
Ingredients
For 12 people
- 64 ounce(s) lean beef roast
- 1 can beef consomme'
- 1 low-sodium beef bouillon cube
- 1/8 teaspoon(s) bay leaves
- 1/2 teaspoon(s) whole white peppercorns or 4 whole peppercorns
- 1/8 teaspoon(s) dried rosemary, crushed
- 1 teaspoon(s) dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon(s) garlic powder
- 12 slices french bread
Directions
- Trim and discard all visible fat from roast.
- Place in crock pot.
- Combine beef consomme, bouillon and spices; pour over roast. Add water to almost cover.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 10 to 12 hours or until meat is very tender Remove meat; strain and reserve broth.
- Shred meat with 2 forks.
- Serve bread with broth for dipping.
