Holy Chili Sauce
Feeling saucy? Holy moly this chili sauce is downright delish. For a variation, mix with mayonnaise and a little bit of milk and use it as a salad dressing.
Ingredients
For 7 people
- 8 cup(s) ripe tomatoes
- 2 cup(s) chopped celery
- 2 cup(s) chopped onions
- 2 red peppers
- 2 green peppers
- 3 cup(s) cooking apples
- 3 cup(s) sugar
- 2 cup(s) vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon(s) cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon(s) nutmeg
- 3 tablespoon(s) salt
- 1 small can tomato paste
Directions
- Bring all ingredients except tomato paste to a boil. Boil for 1/2 hour. Add tomato paste and boil 1/2 hour longer. Seal in jars. This can be used on meat loaf or hamburgers and also makes a delicious salad dressing.
