Home-Baked Cornbread
One bite of this baked cornbread and your fixin' to taste a bit of good old-fashioned mouthwatering southern greatness. Spice up this standard cornbread dish with bacon, jalapeños or mushrooms. Simply toss in a handful of the addition of your choice.
Ingredients

- 1 cup(s) all-purpose flour
- 1 cup(s) yellow cornmeal
- 1/4 cup(s) sugar
- 4 teaspoon(s) baking powder
- 3/4 teaspoon(s) salt
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup(s) milk or buttermilk
- 1/4 cup(s) cooking oil
Directions
Sift together flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder and salt.Add eggs, milk and oil. Beat until just smooth-do not over beat. Turn into a greased 9x9x2 inch-baking pan. Bake in a 425 degrees oven for 20 minutes.
