Lemon Chicken

This slow-roasted chicken gets infused with lemon flavor that makes it bright and fragrant. For more wow, add in some sprigs of rosemary or some fresh thyme.

Lemon Chicken


For 6 people

  • 1 whole chicken
  • 1 tablespoon(s) olive oil for browning
  • 1 salt and pepper
  • 2 lemons
  • 16 ounce(s) water


1. Wash chicken, then salt and pepper it all over, inside and out.
2. In a Dutch oven, brown the chicken all over.
3. Place chicken in slow cooker, butt end up. Cut lemons in fourths (rind and all) and place the lemon pieces inside the chicken. Add water to the pot.
4. Turn your slow cooker on high for 2-3 hours, then turn it down to medium for the rest of the day for the meat to get good and done and be tender and juicy.
5. Before serving, remove the lemons.
