Lovely Black Beans Chili Salad

This recipe lives up to its name!  You can call it quite lovely once you've tasted this spicy dish. The seasoned beef and hot flavor blends of the beans will blow your taste buds away! So prepare yourself for this lovely bean chili salad!

Lovely Black Beans Chili Salad


For 8 people

  • 1 1/2 cup(s) black beans
  • 2 cup(s) chopped onions
  • 12 cup(s) garlic cloves, chopped
  • 5 cup(s) whole tomatoes, undrained and chopped (2-20 oz. cans)
  • 16 ounce(s) ground beef
  • 1 ounce(s) green pepper, chopped
  • 2 tablespoon(s) chili powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon(s) ground cumin
  • 1/8 teaspoon(s) crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 cup(s) grated Cheddar cheese


  1. In large cast-iron pot, put in black beans and cover with water. Bring to a boil. Turn off heat and let set at least 4 hours. Turn on heat; add 1 1/2 cup onion and 8 cloves garlic. Simmer until beans are tender. Drain liquid from beans. Add tomatoes to the beans and cook on low heat.
  2. While beans are cooking, brown ground beef in skillet with remaining onions, green pepper, garlic, chili powder, cumin and red pepper. Drain off all fat and add to beans and tomatoes. Heat thoroughly and serve topped with grated cheese.
