Macaroni & Beef
This goulash is a meat and cheese lover's delight. It's sure to be a hit with both kids and adults alike. Plus, it's a simple fix when you're pressed for time.
Ingredients
For 4 people
- 1/2 cup(s) onions, chopped
- 1/10 cup(s) beef broth or bouillon
- 1/3 cup(s) celery, chopped
- 1 teaspoon(s) dried parsley
- 1/3 cup(s) green peppers, chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 3/4 cup(s) macaroni
- 1 teaspoon(s) sugar
- 3 1/2 cup(s) tomatoes, crushed (28-oz. can)
- 1/2 teaspoon(s) red peppers
- 12 ounce(s) hamburger
- 1/2 cup(s) American cheese
Directions
Place hamburger in large skillet; separate into small pieces and sauté till meat is brown. Remove meat from skillet and drain off most liquid and then place pasta in boiling water for 8 minutes and drain. Add 1 tbsp. olive oil to skillet and sauté onion, celery, peppers, and garlic till soft. Add cooked pasta, hamburger, tomatoes, bouillon, parsley, sugar and pepper. Toss ingredients. Simmer slowly for 20-minutes while stirring frequently. Serve when flavors have blended. A small bowl of dry American cheese should accompany the meal.
