I love New York and you will too when you taste this scrumptious strip steak that's great tasting even when you're not in the Big Apple. It's the perfect cut.


New York Strip Steak

Ingredients

For 1 people

  • 16 ounce(s) New York strip steaks (2- (8 oz) steaks)
  • 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoon(s) apricot preserves
  • 1 tablespoon(s) extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) white sugar
  • 1 dash(es) salt
  • 1 dash(es) pepper

Directions

In a dish, mix together the olive oil, garlic, cinnamon, sugar, and apricot preserves. Make several shallow slices in both sides of the steaks. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Place steaks in the dish with the mixture, and turn to coat. Cover (plastic wrap works) and refrigerate for 1 to 2 hours. Preheat grill to high. Grill steaks 5-7 minutes on each side, or until satisfactory.
