Original Fried Catfish
Reel this recipe in and host your own fish fry! This catfish is dipped in buttermilk, then in a dry cornmeal mixture.
Ingredients
For 6 people
- 6 small catfish
- 2 cup(s) buttermilk
- 2 cup(s) cornmeal
- 1/8 teaspoon(s) salt, to taste
- 1/8 teaspoon(s) Ground pepper, to taste
Directions
Shake cornmeal, salt and ground pepper in a paper bag. Heat oil to 350 degrees halfway up the sides of a cast iron skillet. Dip catfish in buttermilk, then in dry mixture in bag. Fry about 3 minutes on each side and serve with Hush Puppies.
