Rum Chili
It's no rum do how great this dish taste! The title says it all -- this beefy recipe is quite delicious! The rum lends some great flavors to this dish.
Ingredients
For 10 people
- 1 tablespoon(s) salad oil
- 2 medium onions, chopped
- 2 cloves minced garlic
- 48 ounce(s) coarsely ground chuck
- 2 tablespoon(s) chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon(s) dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon(s) salt
- 4 floz dark rum
- 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
- 1 (28 oz.) can tomatoes
- 6 cup(s) cans drained kidney beans ( 3 cans)
Directions
- Heat oil in an 8-quart pot. Lightly saut onion and garlic. Add meat, breaking up and stirring with wooden spoon until color changes. Add remaining ingredients. Cover and simmer 2 hours, stirring now and then. Check for seasoning.
