Smelts with Tartar Sauce
Ooooh that smelt, the smelts that surround you. These scrumptious smelts are downright delicious when fried for just five minutes. Batter em and get buttered up.
Ingredients

- 24 smelts
- 1 teaspoon(s) salt
- 6 tablespoon(s) flour or cornmeal
- 4 tablespoon(s) butter
- 12 tablespoon(s) tartar sauce, any brand, or as much as desired
Directions
Clean smelts; remove heads and tails, and wipe with a damp cloth Roll smelts in salted flour or cornmeal. Fry for about 5 minutes in hot butter, turning them frequently until a golden brown. Serve with tartar sauce.
