Spaghetti Marinara
It is possible to get a hearty and healthy meal without adding meat. Veg out with this spaghetti marinara that's biggest draw is the tomatoey taste.
Ingredients
For 4 people
- 8 ounce(s) spaghetti
- 1 tablespoon(s) extra virgin olive oil
- 1 3/4 cup(s) (1-14 1/2 oz. can) of chunky stewed tomatoes
- 1 (6 oz.) can of tomato paste
- 1/8 teaspoon(s) garlic salt, to taste
- 1 teaspoon(s) dried basil, to taste
- 1 teaspoon(s) parsley flakes, to taste
Directions
Combine olive oil, chunky stewed tomatoes, tomato paste, and 3 oz. of water in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer 5 minutes. Add garlic salt, basil, and parsley flakes. In another kettle or pot, add 3 quarts of water and bring to a boil. Add 8 oz. of spaghetti, return to boil and stir occasionally. Do not cover kettle or pot. Allow cooking for 9 minutes. Drain spaghetti and add marinara sauce.
