Stuffed French Toast
What you see isn't what you get with this scrumptious French toast. While it may look like the typical breakfast, it's actually filled with cream cheese, Swiss cheese and sausage for the ultimate test in taste.
Ingredients
For 4 people
- 8 slices French bread (cut 1 1/2 inches thick)
- 2 tablespoon(s) butter, softened
- 8 ounce(s) cream cheese, softened
- 8 ounce(s) brown and serve sausage patties, cooked
- 1 cup(s) Swiss cheese, shredded
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup(s) milk
- 1 1/2 teaspoon(s) sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon(s) cinnamon
Directions
Cut a pocket in the crust of each slice of bread. Butter the inside of pocket. Cut sausage into bite sized pieces. Toss with cheese and stuff into pockets. In a shallow bowl, beat eggs, milk, sugar and cinnamon and dip both sides of bread. Cook on a greased hot griddle until golden brown on both sides and serve with maple syrup.
