Sweet Pear Bruschetta
Ain't that sweet? We're talking about the sweet pear bruschetta, a caramelized topping that covers layers of chocolate cream cheese and pears.
Ingredients
For 6 people
- 6 1/2 to 3/4-inch thick slices sweet Hawaiian bread, egg bread, or raisin bread
- 2 medium pears, sliced and mashed
- 4 tablespoon(s) tub of cream cheese with pineapple
- 1/2 tablespoon(s) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tablespoon(s) butter, melted
- 2 tablespoon(s) brown sugar
- 1/10 cup(s) Sifted powdered sugar
- 1/10 cup(s) Chocolate curls
Directions
- Toast bread and let cool. Combine mashed pear, cream cheese, and cocoa powder in a medium bowl. Spread some of the mixture over each toasted bread slice. Place slices on a cookie sheet. Layer pear slices on top of cream cheese mixture. Brush pears with melted butter and sprinkle with brown sugar.
- Broil bruschetta 4 to 5-inches from the heat for 30 to 60 seconds or until pear slices just begin to glaze.
- To serve, sprinkle tops with sifted powdered sugar and garnish with chocolate curls. Serve immediately.
