Combat Cellulite

Whether you're fat or thin, you can still be afflicted with that cottage cheese-like appearance. And unfortunately, there is no known cure for unsightly cellulite. In most cases, cellulite forms on the legs, abdomen and the pelvic area. Between 80 and 90 percent of women are plagued by cellulite. There are many different factors that can contribute to cellulite including hormones, genetics, gender, race, distribution of fat and circulatory issues. Diet, or lack of healthy eating habits, can also bring on the cellulite. There are countless products out there that promise to correct cellulite issues. Some of the most accepted treatments include liposuction and mesotherapy, where drugs are injected into the trouble spots. However, liposuction is a temporary fix that addresses deep fat not cellulite which sits close to the skin. As far as expensive products and treatments that are touted by medspas and salons, these are short-term fixes that don't necessarily remedy the problem.
Deep massages cause the skin to puff up which lessens the appearance of cellulite. Although there aren't any guarantees, doctors do agree that there are some common sense steps you can take to combat to cellulite. For starters, your goal should be to eliminate extra body fat. That can be accomplished by losing weight through a non-nonsense approach, specifically a well-balanced meal plan and an effective exercise regimen. Lose weight at a healthy pace -- one to two pounds a week. Exercise regularly to create a muscular foundation and reduce those un-darling dimples. A winning combination of aerobic exercise and strength training will be most effective. Some women actually turn to self-tanning products which help lessen the cellulite-ish appearance.
