But when your relationship is built on common interests that relate to food and a sedentary lifestyle, then adopting healthier habits can have the opposite effect. If you like watching the same shows together, going out for pizza and beer, or staying indoors in your pajamas on the weekends, then new workout routines and healthy eating might disrupt your partnership. So what can you do to save your love if you feel the changes putting a strain on you? Here are a few ways to reassure your partner.


If he or she is worried about things changing - by making negative statements or otherwise - then try to incorporate him or her into your new rituals and make new traditions. If your partner doesn't share that commitment to his or her body, then don't judge. Change is hard, and if your partner isn't willing to make the commitment, then it doesn't mean he or she never will. Try to be understanding and stay proud to be with your partner. Including your partner in your healthy efforts is healthy for both of you...and your relationship.
