Berry French Toast
Facile yet flavorful this French toast recipe is simply fantastic. A very succulent breakfast dish with a delicate mixture of sweetened berries. Bon appétit!
Ingredients
For 6 people
- 2 cup(s) frozen blueberries
- 1 1/2 cup(s) frozen blackberries
- 1 1/2 cup(s) frozen raspberries
- 3/4 cup(s) granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon(s) cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon(s) ground cinnamon
- 1 cup(s) fat-free milk
- 1 teaspoon(s) vanilla extract
- 4 egg whites, lightly beaten
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- 8 ounce(s) loaf French bread, cut into 1-in. slices
- 3 teaspoon(s) granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon(s) powdered sugar
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Combine first 6 ingredients in a 13x9 in. baking dish coated with cooking spray.
Combine milk, vanilla, egg whites, and egg in a large, shallow baking dish, stirring well with a whisk. Add bread, turning to coat. Let stand 5 minutes, turning bread occasionally. Arrange bread in a single layer over berries. Sprinkle evenly with 1 tbsp. granulated sugar. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly. Sprinkle evenly with powdered sugar.
