Cheddar Grit Cakes

Ingredients
For 6 people
- 1/4 cup(s) diced red bell pepper
- 1/4 cup(s) chopped onion
- 64 tablespoon(s) heavy cream
- 2 cup(s) chicken stock
- 4 ounce(s) cream cheese
- 1/4 teaspoon(s) white pepper
- 16 tablespoon(s) instant grits
- 1 cup(s) flour
- 1 cup(s) vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon(s) fresh chopped cilantro, for garnish
Directions
In a medium pan sauté pepper and onion. Add cream and stock; heat to a boil. Add cream cheese, white pepper and grits; simmer 5 minutes. Pour onto greased sheet pan and cool. Cut into 6 squares. Dredge in flour and sauté in oil until brown on both sides. Garnish with cilantro and serve.
