Curried Orange

This scintillating soup can be served as an appetizer or a dessert. There's nothing complicated about whipping up a pot of this Indian-inspired dish that gives you curry in a hurry.

Curried Orange


For 6 people

  • 1 tablespoon(s) ghee
  • 4 whole cloves
  • 1 inch cinnamon sticks
  • 1/4 teaspoon(s) cumin seeds
  • 1 pinch(es) cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon(s) mustard seeds
  • 1 teaspoon(s) fresh ginger, peeled and grated
  • 1 seeds from 2 green cardamom pods
  • 4 cup(s) orange juice, freshly squeezed


  1. Heat ghee or butter in a medium pot over low heat. Add spices and stir until fragrant. Stir in orange juice and cook slowly for 15 to 20 minutes.
  2. Serve hot, in small bowls or cups, with or without spoons.
