And before you begin styling, apply styling cream or a moisturizing product to smooth hair cuticles down. Seal each strand, and hair will look smoother. If all else fails, and you just don't have time to get to the salon, snip a few of those split ends yourself with a sharp pair of scissors. Don't go too crazy - a couple of strands at a time is enough. For color that's grown out from the roots, try one of the many touch-up kits on the market. They're fast, inexpensive and will touch up your roots until you can get in to the salon to get a fresh highlight or coat of color. Take care of your hair, and it'll take care of you...having to go to the salon so often!
